About the Role

We're hiring a contract, remote AI Engineer to design, build, and deploy AI solutions that solve real business problems in healthcare. You'll own the full lifecycle, from scoping the problem with stakeholders, to designing and testing the right AI approach, to deploying it into production and making sure it delivers measurable impact.

This role spans the AI/ML full stack, from data to production. We're open to engineers who lean AI/ML-first as well as those who lean DevOps/MLOps-first, as long as you're comfortable operating across the entire pipeline, data, modeling, and deployment.

What You'll Do

• Partner with business SMEs and product managers to discover and scope high-value problems

• Design and prototype AI/ML solutions (including Gen AI, NLP, and agentic approaches) suited to the problem at hand

• Test and validate solution efficacy before deployment

• Write production-quality code and deploy models into live systems

• Optimize models and pipelines for performance, scalability, and reliability

• Collaborate with software developers and data scientists throughout the build

• Support adoption by working closely with business experts post-deployment

• Contribute to technical documentation and participate in code reviews

• Help integrate AI solutions into existing business systems

What We're Looking For

• Strong foundation in computer science and software development, with the ability to build robust, maintainable AI solutions

• Experience with Gen AI and NLP for applications like intelligent assistants and agentic AI that recommend, augment, or automate decisions

• Hands-on experience with Python and ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn

• Familiarity with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation on large datasets

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

• Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders

• Bonus: experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), MLOps practices, and prior real-world AI deployments in a business setting
